What are the odds you crash on this trip?

Fill in the blanks. We pull every fatal crash on record along your roads from NHTSA, the traffic counts for those roads from the FHWA, and the forecast for the hour you leave, then give you a number you can actually picture.

01

Every fatal crash, on your exact roads

NHTSA records every fatal crash in America with coordinates. We keep the ones within 120 metres of your route and pin each to the road it happened on, refreshed the week NHTSA publishes a new year.

02

Judged against the traffic

A road with ten crashes and 200,000 cars a day is safer than one with three crashes and a trickle. FHWA traffic counts turn raw crash counts into crashes per mile driven.

03

Your hour, your weather, your mode

2 am is three times deadlier than 2 pm. Rain roughly doubles crash risk. Arterials are the deadliest roads to walk. We read the forecast for your hour and score driving, cycling and walking on their own baselines.
